Edwin, the eldest child born to Billie Ray Jackson and Velma Lee Mitchell Jackson, entered this world on July 5, 1962. During his childhood, the family lived in Atlanta, Texas. He attended elementary, junior high and was very active in sports at Atlanta High School. Edwin sport of choice was football. His classmates, the student body and family proclaimed his excellence in this sport. In Edwin’s family, there is a long line of high achieving football players with one uncle becoming a professional football player. Following the high school years and graduation, Edwin joined the military. Edwin moved to Sacramento around 19 years ago. During his time in Sacramento, he united with the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He was actively participated in the Mass Choir, Golden Chorus, and Male Chorus.
Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Velma Jackson, brothers, Bryan Ray Jackson, and Cleophus Lynn Jackson.

(Vanessa) Jackson, Waco, Texas, Ruby Lee Jackson, Saginaw Michigan, Perry Jefferson, Texarkana, Texas, Polly (Naymond Montgomery of Lone Star, Texas, Richard (Ruth) Mitchell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Emma Peoples of Tri Cities, Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
