De accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Pilgrim Rest Missionary under the leadership of Rev. G. B. Prince.  She was a faithful member of Pilgrim Rest until her husband was called INTO THE MINISTERY and became the pastor of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church.  She became a member and remained a faithful servant there until she was called home.  As first Lady she chaired the young womens ministry, she was the Director of VBS for many years; she was thw Sunday School Teacher for the Women’s class, she was also and avid attendee of prayer meeting and teachers meeting on Wednesday’s night.

Deloris and Robert were united in marriage on September 2, 1972.  Tye were blessed with three Children; Tamara Sheque, Ruben Earl, Benjamin Gerard.  They have shared a love that has been undeniably strong, patient and understanding.

De was educated in Parochial School until the eight grade and then attended school in the Dallas School System.  She attended Franklin D. Roosevelt High School after which she attended Texas Women’s University.   She graduated in 1974 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising.  After College she worked as sales associated at Titche’s for a while and then she taught at a private school for a few years.  She later was able to stay home and be a fulltime dutiful and loving wife, mother, daughter friend, and church worker.

De was a very creative, crafty and imaginative person.  De was a very fashion conscience person and alwys dressed her family to the hilt according to her means,  She was a very accomplished seamstress and loved doing projects.  She was the ultimate shopper and ‘SALE’ meant she had to go see what was been offered.  De was a comical person, she was a very straightforward and sometimes curt person but she was always truthful.  She was a dear friend to those that were closest to her.  De was a excellent example of a daughter, wife mother and friend.
