Services Celebrating the life of, Mrs. Ruby Choice will be, Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11:00 am. Service will be held at, Remment of Grace Church, 2320 56th Street, Dallas, Texas 75216. Wake Service will be, Friday, April 1, 2016, 8:30pm-9:30pm at Lomax Funeral Home: 2703 Elsie Faye Heggins, Dallas, Texas 75215.
Ruby Jean Hightower Choice was born October 7, 1929 in Laneville, Texas to the parents of Arthur and Willie Mae Hightower. She grew up in Laneville, Texas where she received her formal education from Laneville public schools in Laneville, Texas.
She met and married the love of her life, Mathis Lee Choice Sr. On October 10, 1947 to this union 11 children were born. She worked as a housekeeper and nanny until she retired.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Holiness Church Of God In Christ for over 50 years. She began her Christian journey under the leadership of the late Bishop F.L Hammock. She remained a faithful member through the transition of leadership and also served under Elder Willars Crawford until his death in 1997. She remained faithful in her service to god and the church under the leadership of Elder Danny Choice until her health prevented her from attending services. She and three other sisters started a quartet group in 1985, the spiritual singers. this group led others into worship from 1985-1997.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Willie Mae Hightower; two sisters, Alberta Bagley and Estelle Fuller; one brother, Amos Hightower; three sons, Bobby Joe, Mathis Jr. and Arthur Choice; one great-grand baby Sydnee Alise.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Mathis Choice Sr, sons, Elder Danny Choice (Cynthia) of Dallas, Texas, John Choice (Majorie) of Dallas, Texas, Dewayne Choice, David Choice(Patricia) of Lancaster, Texas; daughters, Evelyn Crawford, Minnie Choice, Lois miller (Willie) and Felecia Curry all of Dallas, Texas; sibling’s, Robert Hightower, Lorene Williams of Abilene, Texas, Evelyn Hightower and Marvelene Bryant of Dallas, Texas; twenty-nine Grandchildren, thirty-five Great-Grandchildren, one Great-Great Grandchild, and many other loving nieces, nephews, friends and the Holiness Church of God In Christ church family.
