Lola Faye Hicks-Rayford was the 1st of six children born July 18, 1948 to the late parents of Nelson Hicks Jr. and Annie Faye Hicks in Kosse, Texas. she accepted Christ at an early age.

Her elementary education began at Kosse Elementary School. in 1967, she graduated from Washington High School in Groesbeck, Texas. Later she moved to Dallas, Texas and became a member of Romine Avenue Christian Church (Disciple of Christ). Lola was the proud owner of Lola’s Playhouse Daycare for years. Her hobbies were fishing, cooking and sports.

March 2, 2016 at 10:38 p.m.,  Lola answered the call of Jesus. Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; daughter, Kenzie and son, Stephran.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving son, Yancey Hicks; two grandchildren,Trezavant and Yancy Hicks Jr; three sisters, Linda Nash, Jeanette Wofford and Marilyn Reed, three brothers; Elton Williams, Lonnie Hicks, and Nelson Hicks Jr., two uncles, a host of aunts,nieces,nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
